Something about our Spring Fashion Show Charity Gallatin C.A.R.E.S

Our Charity for March is Gallatin C.A.R.E.S. It was chartered by the State of Tennessee in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It was organized for the purpose of providing short-term emergency assistance to individuals and families in Sumner County. This wonderful organization serves between 11,000 -12,000 individuals per year by providing assistance with food, clothing, and general assistance for anyone suffering from economic and financial distress. Last year, 3,554 families in Sumner County received assistance from Gallatin C.A.R.E.S.

Gallatin C.A.R.E.S. operates a thrift store, a food bank, and a donation center at their North Durham, Gallatin, location. The Thrift Store also operates a “pick-up” service for large items such as furniture. The food bank also operates a delivery service to the homes of senior citizens in need.

Our Spring Fashion Show Luncheon provides a perfect opportunity for us to support Gallatin C.A.R.E.S. The Thrift Shop is in need of gently used clothing of all types. As you are looking over your winter clothes or getting your spring and summer clothes ready for wearing, please consider donating the items you no longer wear. If your children or grandchildren have grown out of last year’s clothes, please think of Gallatin C.A.R.E.S. Men and women’s clothing, boys’ and girls’ clothing, outerwear and underwear, coats and shoes, casual and dressy clothing will all find a person in dire need when placed in the Thrift Shop.

Bring your items with you to the March Fashion Show Luncheon. We will have large bins in the entryway (beside the stairs) just waiting for you to fill them to overflowing. We will then pack them up and deliver them to the Gallatin C.A.R.E.S. Thrift Shop that very day!
