Associate Conductor, Vinay Parameswaran was our Speaker for our May Meeting! Active as both an orchestra and opera conductor, Vinay Parameswaran currently serves as Associate Conductor of the Nashville Symphony, where he works closely with Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero and conducts the Symphony in classical, pops, education, and community concerts. In his tenure as Associate Conductor, Parameswaran has conducted the Nashville Symphony in over 100 performances.
Local Nashville Symphony enthusiasts will have the opportunity to catch a performance close to home this summer when Historic Rock Castle hosts the acclaimed orchestra on June 14.
The lakeside grounds of the 18th century Hendersonville home has been chosen as one of seven locations for the symphony’s free community concert series, according to Sonja Winkler, senior director of operations and orchestra manager for the Nashville Symphony. It will be interesting to get the inside scoop on this performance.
Appropriately, the beneficiary of the May Luncheon will be Rock Castle. Since 1971, Historic Rock Castle has been inspiring imagination by educating and engaging school children and families, community members and visitors to our state about the life and legacy of General Daniel Smith and his wife Sarah Michie Smith. As Sumner County’s ONLY State Historic Site, your contribution will go toward their long standing objective to create the public programming in keeping with their mission as a cultural community center and major educational tool in the city and county, and as a major attraction to visitors from around the state, nation and the world.
The luncheon was Thursday, May 11th at Bluegrass Country Club.
