Fall Greetings to All,
What a wonderful time of year in Sumner County! Autumn is my favorite time of year with the crisp air, beautiful leaves, and hopefully, a bountiful harvest to come. I’m seeing many pumpkins, mums, and skeletons for sale.
Our first meeting of the year was well attended and included a very interesting program on what trees, shrubs, and flowers grow best in Sumner County. Our speaker also told us which of these would not thrive as well in our area. Thanks to all who came. It was such a festive beginning to our year with so many members, beautiful door prizes, and delicious food.
Our October meeting will be back at Bluegrass Country Club on October 12. Please reserve your seat early. Our speaker will be Zoe Greene, Executive Director of the Sumner County Board of Tourism. She will speak on how to be a tourist where you live!
The October charity of the month will be the American Legion Veterans’ Residence in Gallatin. Please check the newsletter for some needed items you can bring. I have a special feeling toward any Veterans since I had several in my family. This organization really takes care of some of our county’s Veterans who need assistance.
Don’t forget to visit our Activity Table to find a group that suits your interests.
You should have already received our beautiful new Member Directory in your mailbox. Inside you will find two small cards that can be shared with a friend or neighbor. I hope to see you out and about enjoying Fall in our lovely Sumner County communities.
Warm regards, Bobette
