February 13 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
This month’s luncheon is going to be a busy one – there will be two speakers to make this lunchtime a special one. One of our speakers is Cindy Church, a local gal who’s topic will be “Don’t get me started: Laughing at the Generational Divide.” In 2011 Cindy enrolled in comedy writing and performance classes at Rik Robert’s School of Laughs and Zanies in Nashville. She immediately found her comedic voice and the joy of live performances. In April she will participate for the second time with 350 writers from around the country at the Erma Bombeck Writer’s Workshop on the campus of the University of Dayton, Ohio. Cindy loves to combine comedy with relevant topic matters – believing as Erma Bombeck wrote “If you can’t make it better, you can laugh at it.”
February is American Heart Awareness month. Our second speaker is going to be a local practitioner who will talk to us about keeping our hearts healthy as we live our lives as vibrant and active women. To celebrate this awareness and the month of February, let’s wear red – which will make for some awesome photo ops!
As always, if any Newcomer has a recommendation for a guest speaker, please let Carol Gower know.
Join us on the 2nd Thursday of the month to enjoy friends, great speakers, a worthy cause and lunch. To make reservations for the luncheon, you have three options – you can click here to purchase your ticket and make your reservation, send an email to newcomersluncheon@gmail.com or call or text Claudette Delk at 502-226-0462. We need to have your reservation no later than 8 p.m. Monday, February 10. The cost of the luncheon is $22 if a reservation is made and $25 for walk-ins.
