We are privileged to have Mr. Barry Rice as our Guest Speaker. Mr. Rice is a decorated US Army Veteran who served and was wounded in Vietnam. He has continued to serve his country and fellow service men and women at the State and National level. He is a past president of the Tennessee State Council of Vietnam Veterans of America as well as the President of Chapter 20 of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA). VVA’s Founding Principal states that “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon
Mr. Rice is a published author of three books (The Power & Blessings of a Sunrise, Moving Forward Out of the Fog, and Casserole ‘101’) and a noted Public Speaker. It is indeed fitting that he will join us on VETERANS DAY.
Our Charity of the Month will be the Veterans’ Home of Sumner County. We will be “selling candy” at the Money Tree and collecting paper and personal products along with some specific food items for the residents. You can bring your contributions to Bluegrass on the day of the luncheon or drop them off at the homes of a few of us who have volunteered to deliver the items to the Veterans Home. More details will be emailed to all members.
In addition to the Veterans Home, the Board has decided to donate the $220 profit from the sale of Directory advertising to the Wreaths Across America organization. Kay Rorick suggested we do this in remembrance of Veterans Day and to honor the 600 veterans buried in the Gallatin City Cemetery.
