April Newcomers

Greetings to All,

As we still wait for Spring weather to come and stay, Newcomers remain busy planning activities and attending activities. I want to offer special thanks to all our Activity Directors and to Lockey Rodden who coordinates all of our activities. Our Activity Leaders volunteer their time to plan, organize, and communicate opportunities for club members to come together and make new friends. Contact Lockey if you have ideas for new activities.

Our April luncheon will be on Thursday, April 11, at Bluegrass Country Club. Please note that reservations must be made by April 3rd since our total has to be given to Bluegrass on April 4th. Kay Rorick has planned another great program. Cindy Hinton-Church will be our speaker this month. She is a storyteller and humorist and will surely be bringing a smile to our lips. The Charity of the Month will be Children Are People. Mary Lou McNabb does a wonderful job setting up the charities and inviting them to come and speak.

Kay is also busy planning our Spring Fashion Show, “A Kaleidoscope of Color”. Contact Marsha Taylor for reservations. Cost is $45, and be sure and tell Marsha any friends with whom you would like to sit. Chico’s is excited to bring us another fashion show with our very own Newcomers Models. Connie Maynord will be working to coordinate times for fittings with our models and Chico’s.

I hope each of you will participate in something that Newcomers offers. I think we are just what anyone new to our county needs! We are even a chance for longtime residents to meet new folks. Reach out and invite someone to a luncheon or the fashion show! We’ll show them a good time!

Many blessings,

Bobette Spear
